Chamba Valley in Himachal
Chamba Valley is perched on a little plateau about 100 meters above the river Ravi. Isolated in this valley by the high ranges, the people have developed their own style of architecture and art. Dedicated to both Shiva and Vishnu, the Laxminarayanan temple built in the 8th century AD, is famous for its rich ornamentation. Lahaul & Spiti Valley in Himachal
Lauhal and Spiti valleys are a fine example of nature in its wildest form. The Chandra and Bhaga rivers nourish the threshold of the Lahaul Plateau. Extremely dry and cold, the region is surrounded by mountains on all sides. The rough and rocky terrain reflects the barren landscape and sparse vegetation. Providing contrast to the harsh features of the valley are the warm people ever welcoming in their hospitality. The predominant influence here is Tibetan Buddhism and there are some spectacular gompas (monasteries) here. Nature in its untamed form, invokes wonder and one is left spellbound by its mysterious spell.

Dharamshala in Himachal Pradesh
This is the most favored hill station in the fertile, undulating Jangra valley lying between the Shaivalik hills and the foothills of the mighty Dhauladhars. The valley noted for the beauty of its lush green terraces, is a sight to behold. The sparkling waters of the crystal clear streams make one nostalgic to the back to nature call. The main highlight of the place is the Dalai Lama's residence at Macleodganj, which is now a major center of Tibetan culture. Triund, a scenic picnic spot just below the snow line offers a spectacular view of the valley. An annual fair is held at the Dal Lake every year in September. Above Upper Dharamsala is the Dharmkot Hill with a panoramic view of the majestic Dhauladhars.

Solan
Solan, a small town developed by the Britsh, is named after the Goddess Sholoni Devi, whose temple is one of the major attractions of the city. Solan is well known for its brewery. The valley is an ideal spot for long rambling walks in the woods, where the silence of the surroundings is broken by the murmer of springs meandering through. Visitors looking out for a picinic will find an answer in the Karol Tibba and Meteol Tibba. The Himachal Agriculture College and the Research Institute are also located in Solan.

Chail & Kufri in Himachal
This idyllic resort, set amidst scented forests, overlooks the Sutlej Valley. Shimla and Kasauli are also visible at night.
