Tour Overview

The tour starts from the gateway city of India, Mumbai & covers all the splendid cities of South India. After arrival in Mumbai have a half day city tour of Mumbai followed by excursion to Elephanta caves. Later you will proceed to Cochin where you will visit palaces and churches inspired by the Portuguese architecture. Later the trip proceed to Periyar wildlife santury, where one can enjoy the nature walk and spice plantation tour. The tour ends up with relaxation in Goa beach.

Drive from Madurai to Trichy. Trichy is situated on the banks of the Cauvery River. Trichy, the fourth largest city in the state was a citadel of the early Cholas, which later fell to the Pallavas. Trichy's most famous landmark is an 83m high rock which is the only outcrop in the otherwise flat land of the city. The most amazing fact about the rock is that it is one of the oldest in the world-approximately 3,800 years, which makes it as old as the rocks of Greenland and older than the Himalayas. Atop of the rock is the Ucchi Pillayar Koil, a temple dedicated to Lord Vinayaka, from where one can enjoy a panoramic view of Trichy. Upon arrival transfer to the hotel. Overnight at Trichy.
Day 09 - Trichy 
City tour in Trichy including visiting Rock Fort, the view from the fort is spectacular. The Vinayaka temple at the top is reached by climbing a tunnel in rock. Half way up is the Sri Thayumanaswamy Temple, dedicated to Lord Siva. It has a 100-pillar hall and a Vimana covered with gold. On the southern face of the rock are several beautifully carved rock-cut cave temples of the Pallava period. Overnight in Trichy.
Day 10- Trichy/ChennaiDistance - 325 Kms 
Morning drive to Chennai , Halfday city tour including trip to Dakshin Chitra. Overnight in Chennai.

Chennai

The village of Kumarakom is a cluster of little islands on the Vembanad Lake in Kerala, a state in India. Geographically, it is located at 9.35 North and 76.26 East. Kumarakom's soil is extremely fertile due to the proximity of the water source, this has resulted in the growth of a wide variety of flora in Kumarakom, especially the mangrove and coconut trees.

Hassan offers a wide variety of accommodation. It is well connected by road and rail to Bangalore, Mysore and Mangalore.Hassanamba Temple is 800 years old and houses the main deity of Hassan. The temple is dedicated to Amba also known as Goddess Shakti. The goddess here is a anthill or (hutta in kannada) which denotes Hassanamba is actually goddess Parvathi. The Inner sanctum opens only once a year for two weeks during Deepavali and closes three days after Balipadyami. When the temple is closed they keep before the goddess a lit lamp two bags of uncooked rice, water and flowers.

Madurai

On the day the city was to be named, as Lord shiva blessed the land and its people, divine nectar (Madhu) was showered on the city from his matted locks. This city was henceforth known as Madhurapuri. Madurai is famous for Jasmine Flowers.
