The Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary

Bharatpur Bird SancturaryThe Keoladeo Ghana National Park, or The Bharatpur Bird Sanctuary as it is popularly known, is situated between two historic cities of India- Agra and Jaipur. An ornithologists' delight, the sanctuary is a virtual paradise of some of the most interesting species of birds found in India. Largely the result of the efforts of Dr. Salim Ali, this artificial creation is now accepted as a World Heritage Site. The sanctuary plays host to about 380 species of birds, one third of which are migrants who after spending the winter here return to their breeding grounds in the Arctic and Central Asia. The most popular bird here is the Siberian crane, a bird on the verge of extinction. Other guests at the sanctuary include the Dalmatian pelicans, the darters, storks, wheatears, stints, kingfishers, flycatchers, larks and many more to name.

Corbett National Park

Described by Rudyard Kipling as a primal jungle, Corbett National Park is India's first and finest National Park.
